If you’re transferring from another lifetime ISA to your Dodl lifetime ISA, this won’t count towards either your lifetime ISA allowance of £4,000 or your overall ISA allowance of £20,000.
If you’re transferring from a help to buy ISA, a stocks and shares ISA or a cash ISA then your transferred amount will count towards your lifetime ISA allowance, because it’s moving into a lifetime ISA for first time. But the transferred amount won’t count towards your ISA allowance – as it’s already part of your ISA payments.
Because a transfer from a help to buy ISA/stocks and shares ISA/cash ISA to your Dodl lifetime ISA counts as a new payment to your lifetime ISA, you won’t be able to transfer in more than your remaining lifetime ISA allowance.
