What are KIIDs and why are they important?

KIID stands for key investor information document. Every fund you can invest in with Dodl will have one – including all the AJ Bell funds and themed investments too. KIIDs are provided by the fund manager and summarise the key details of the fund: its aims, risk and reward profile, charges and past performance.

KIIDs are a single place to view and check all these details, so you can decide whether a fund’s right for you and easily compare it to others.

From 6 April 2026, some funds will have a Product Summary instead of a KIID. Both documents do the same job – they help you understand the investment and the risks – just in a slightly different format. The Product summary is a new document, being introduced under FCA rules and is designed to be clearer and easier to read than the current KIID. Product Summaries will fully replace KIIDs by June 2027. You can read more about them here.
