You’ll be prompted to fill in a W-8BEN form when you first invest in US shares in any Dodl account except a pension. Completing the form is really important because it registers you for a lower rate of tax that’s taken on the income and dividends you get from your US investments.

You’ll complete your W-8BEN in the app, and all you need to do is confirm a few details about your relationship to the US, and your address and residency. It’ll take a few minutes to complete and once it’s done you can invest in US shares in any of Dodl accounts, for the next three years.

Just head to your profile in the app to complete your W-8BEN.
